How to connect Coolset to your AI tool (MCP server)
Last updated: April 24, 2026
The Coolset MCP server lets you connect Coolset to AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and VS Code, so you can query your sustainability data and drive Coolset workflows directly from an AI chat.
To connect, add a custom MCP server in your AI tool with the name Coolset AI and server URL https://mcp.coolset.com/mcp. You will be asked to sign in with your Coolset account to authorize access.
Before you start
You need the following to connect:
An AI tool that supports remote MCP servers (for example Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or VS Code).
Admin or Member access to the Coolset workspace you want to connect.
If you belong to multiple Coolset workspaces, the MCP server will act on your currently active workspace. To switch, log in to Coolset and change your active workspace before connecting.
Connecting the Coolset MCP server
The exact menu labels differ per AI tool, but the flow is the same everywhere.
Open your AI tool's settings and find the section for Connectors, Integrations, or MCP servers.
Choose the option to add a custom or remote MCP server. If the tool asks for a transport type, choose HTTP or URL (not a local command).
Enter the connection details:
Name: Coolset AI
Server URL: https://mcp.coolset.com/mcp
Save the connector. You will be redirected to sign in with your Coolset account to authorize the connection.
Once authenticated, enable the Coolset AI connector in your chat or agent to start using it.
Note: If your AI tool does not offer a custom or remote MCP option, it does not yet support the Coolset MCP server. Check that tool's own documentation for its current MCP support.
What the Coolset MCP server can do
Once connected, your AI tool has access to the following Coolset capabilities:
Carbon emissions (read-only): list and export emissions data, and view aggregated charts across dimensions like ledger, vendor, country, or scope.
EUDR and supply chain (read and write): manage suppliers, products, origins, purchase orders, sales orders, and Due Diligence Statements. Trace orders to DDS and upload supporting documents.
Account and workspace info: view your profile, users in your workspace, and switch active workspace.
Security and data access
The MCP server acts on behalf of the signed-in Coolset user, with the same permissions that user has in the Coolset app. An AI tool connected to Coolset can only access data in your active workspace and cannot perform actions you are not authorized to perform in the UI.
To revoke access, remove the Coolset AI connector from your AI tool. You can also sign out of your Coolset account to end any active sessions.
